We’re welcoming back one of our favourite event organizers at STACKT market – Menage Toronto. Known for their celebration of small local Toronto businesses, they’re curating makers of baked goods, jewelry, and talented vendors. Read more about Menage Toronto and Barkada MRKT, ahead of their Sweet City Fest market on February 14 and 15, 2026.
Tell us more about Barkada MRKT and Menage Toronto? We curate community-focused, themed pop-up markets and events in and around the GTA.
We love being able to support small businesses and makers. Barkada MRKT started as a passion project of ours to celebrate and support our fellow Filipino makers. BARKADA means a group of friends in Filipino, so in the past couple of years we have grown to be more inclusive.
How have your small business markets evolved over the course of the years you’ve organized them?
As our markets grew, so did our vision. The community loves showing up to our markets because not only do they discover one of a kind handmade goods, but they know they are also supporting local small businesses and makers.
You celebrate cultural moments and Asian-owned businesses, why does this feel significant to you?
As our audience grew, so did our desire to represent the community around us. While we continue to celebrate Asian owned businesses, we have also welcomed makers from all cultural backgrounds to reflect our city’s diversity.
There’s a cozy and welcoming atmosphere at every local Toronto market you produce, what’s the secret behind how you do this?
It honestly feels like a big family gathering, everyone is friendly and welcoming – whether you are a vendor or first time visitor, you instantly feel like you belong. We truly treat every vendor who joins us as our friends – hence the nickname FRIENDORS.

We get the energy of exploration and discovery with so many of the shops that show their products at your events – what are some of your highlights for recent local Toronto shopping finds?
With every market we try to incorporate fun, unique themes. Last year, we hosted our first Kalamansi fest – where we showcased food and products inspired by the Calamansi fruit. This created a fun and unique experience for our shoppers.
Always ecstatic to host the markets at STACKT market Toronto, what are the feelings you want shoppers to have when they walk away from spending time at your market?
There is something really special about watching people walk through the market, talk to the vendors and genuinely connect with the stories behind the products. People don’t just come to shop- they come to support someone’s dream and take home something handmade with love and intention.
What can we look forward to for the Spring and Summer with Menage Toronto / BarKada markets?
Definitely a variety of different vendors, makers and small businesses. Whether you are coming to visit your favourite friendors or meet new makers, there is always something new and exciting to discover! We hope to see you at the market!
