Seed to Table 4 Part Series
Join Green Iglu and Just Vertical for a four-part workshop series where you'll grow your own herbs and produce, learn about food security and urban agriculture, and use your growings to make handmade pizzas and mojitos! Tickets allow access to all four workshops.
Each workshop runs from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm in the Belgian Moon Brewery at stackt market.
February 9: Planting
Learn how to plant and care for spinach, basil and mint seedlings in the greenhouse at stackt.
February 23: Transplanting
Take your grown seedlings and move them into vertical growing systems. Learn why the price of food is changing in cities and how you can help solve this issue via urban agriculture.
March 8: Growing
Check in on the growth of your plans and do a systems check on the vertical growing system. Learn about food security on a national level with a special focus on indigenous food security.
March 22: Harvesting
Harvest your fully grown plants and get ready to cook! Make handmade pizzas in a wood-fired pizza oven with your spinach and basil and make specialty mojitos with your mint. Learn about the nutritional value of store bought food vs. home-grown food while you enjoy the taste of your creations.
